Join us at All Saints Catholic Church Berlin on Saturday 10 October 2026 at 16:00 for a special blessing of animals, followed by a social hour.
Whether you bring an animal or simply wish to join us in prayer and thanksgiving, you are warmly welcome.
As Fr Peter explains:
“We bless our animals not because they are human, but because they are creatures of God. We recognize them as fellow creatures who share our common home, and we give thanks for the love, companionship and joy through which they enrich our lives.”
In this year marking the 800th anniversary of the death of St Francis of Assisi, we are inspired by his example of receiving creation with gratitude, respect and praise. His words about Brother Sun, Sister Moon and Sister Water express a sense of kinship with creation: a gift from God, rather than simply a collection of resources for human use.vaticannews
In the spirit of St Francis and Laudato si’, our celebration invites us to give thanks for the animals who share our lives and to reflect on our responsibility to care for our common home.
Please bring animals safely and responsibly, according to their needs. Animals who are anxious around others are especially welcome to receive an individual blessing at a quieter moment.
